La Serena Villas

So. Last week I wrote about our trip to LA (if you missed it, you can read it here!), and I realized there was no way I could write a small paragraph about La Serena.

Flash back to a week before our trip to California; it was around midnight in New Orleans and P and I were talking about whether or not we really wanted to stay at Chateau Marmont. For as long as I could remember, I’ve dreamed about staying at Chateau — it’s located above Sunset Blvd and is so dreamy. Originally the plan was to stay in a bungalow with a couple friends, but when they ended up not being able to come with we decided to book a room instead. While the bungalows look as incredible as I’ve imagined, the hotel rooms aren’t exactly worth $500. It’s literally half a grand for a below-average room (located on a beautiful property) with no complimentary perks.

Flash forward to when I see one of my go-to bloggers talking about La Serena Villas. La Serena Villas is a resort in Palm Springs, CA. It sits on over an acre of land in downtown Palm Springs. This escape from reality was originally built in 1933 but recently renovated by Lars and Kelly, the owners. When you book a room, you get a villa; you can get a studio or a 1-bedroom. Included in our room rate was access to the spa, bikes, tequila + champagne, and complimentary breakfast delivered to our front door! P is the sweetest and even had a charcuterie board and roses waiting in our room for my birthday :-) The owners go above and beyond to make sure each guest has the best possible stay and it shows.

Anywho. That long intro now leads to the pics that ~kind of~ show how incredible LSV is!!! We have stayed in a lot of hotels over the past few months but this is the first one that felt home-y. It was so comfortable and relaxing and I am absolutely looking for excuses to go back asap. Also, I feel obligated to be transparent about the price; a lot of bloggers I follow travel the world using their parents’ credit cards — no hate, but I know that most college gals can’t just drop everything to go to Cabo for the weekend. My parents gifted us my flight and one night at a Marriott bc my dad has tons of points from traveling, but we paid every penny other than that so fair prices were really important for us. And THAT is why I’m sharing La Serena with you guys; even with all of the add-ons, this boutique hotel is ridiculously affordable and beyond worth it! It was really satisfying to be able to go on our own vacation using our own money that we saved for months. I promise we’ll be back here real soon ;-)
