2018 Review

I feel like this is the most common sentence known to man once you get older, but DANG this year flew by. I learned a lot in 2018 and I created some incredible memories with the people closest to me. Anywho, I promise myself a wouldn’t do a month-by-month on instagram BUT I never said anything about not doing one on the blog :-) So here are a couple highlights from each month!! <<please excuse the ridiculously real pics>>

JANUARY:

Started the year off right @ P’s place in our college town (bc it is so much more fun than braving the cold to be pressed against a million people for 6 hours try and change my mind). Also officially started my first Pan Exec position! Finished the month off strong with the first estate sale of 2018 :-)

FEBRUARY:

I met Lana Del Rey…yeah. That was the highlight of 2018 by far. After getting to meet the most iconic lady known to Earth, P and I drove down to Plains for our annual Jimmy Carter trip! Also got to tag along to a bridal expo in Atlanta with my brother’s lady and taste test alllllllll the cakes AND tricked the current homeowner of the cabin my dad built into giving us a tour of the house (does that make sense? idek).

MARCH:

Scouted out more estate sales and thrifted a couple of designer pieces for a project I’m working on! Also got super into eating healthier (which is NOT pictured here) and that’s about it…March was a slow month full of exams and boringness.

APRIL:

This month started out really great. April is pretty much the best month for college students because we’re SO CLOSE to summer. My sorority’s philanthropy event, Founder’s Day and formal took place in April, I was gifted my first piece of blogger mail, my dad talked to my class about his career which was super fun and we celebrated Easter! BUT THEN P and I were in a wreck that totaled my car and almost killed us. I want to eventually write a post about it because I had no idea how to handle any of it but I don’t know if I’m ready yet bc it was a LOT.

MAY:

Got to watch my boyfriend graduate from college!!! Also had a bunch of doctor appointments after the wreck (not gonna say that was the worst part about it but like…I don’t do machines and I don’t do blood; there was too much of both in May lolol).

JUNE:

Had a yard sale with P’s family and boated just about every other day. Exactly how the summer should be spent.

JULY:

Celebrated at my sweet friend Aranda’s wedding in Mississippi before leaving for BROSCHE BEACH WEEK. Despite going literally 49 hours without sleeping between leaving the wedding and going to sleep at the beach, it was worth it. Beach week is the best part of my year, every year. My entire extended family spends a week unplugged in New Smyrna Beach. Literally all of my childhood memories include my older cousins and our condos on that beach. It was also P’s first time going to NSB due to a funeral the previous year and his grandmother and brother were coincidentally half an hour from us so they got to drive down and have dinner with all of my relatives! Probably most importantly, I surprised my mom with a trip to Louisville to see her favorite band for her birthday!!!

AUGUST:

P and I road tripped to Ohio for my cousin’s wedding and got to tour the Christmas Story house. it’s been a hot minute

SEPTEMBER:

Panhellenic Recruitment took place and absolutely drained the life out of me. It is the best part of the year and it’s so much fun to see all of the PNMs run home, but holy smokes it is the most exhausting week of the year and I was a zombie for the rest of the month. Also went on our first football trip to UGA where our Blue Raiders were crushed.

OCTOBER:

P and I’s two year anniversary woo!!! Also went to Miami for the first time…tryna go back asap.

NOVEMBER:

Went to Texas for the first time a couple days after P’s birthday. Also got to eat Whataburger for the first time so I can honestly say: it is not what it is hyped up to be. Fight me on that.

DECEMBER:

I turned 21 (woo wooooooooo) and spent my birthday in Los Angeles after spending a week in New Orleans for our college bowl game! And, most importantly…………I OFFICIALLY GOT STRAIGHT As THIS SEMESTER!!! Also had a great Christmas Eve and Day and am currently lounging in sweats about to ring in the new year with a mud mask and my puppy.

UNTIL NEXT YEAR, Y’ALL!!!
