New Orleans

SO back in December we went on our final Board of Trustees trip (insert sob). My smarty boy P has been serving as the 2018-2019 Student Trustee and was able to go to all of the away football games and took your girl as his #1. We got to fly private, drink wine with mayors, stay in uber nice hotels and watch all of the games from the athletic director’s box. Y’all, we were SPOILED. Most trips were only a few days long, but even on those shorter ones we really wore ourselves out doing as much as we possibly could do in a new city (ESPECIALLY in Miami bc I mean…who wouldn’t?!).

However, it was a whole different ball game for the bowl trip (ha ha ha). We were in New Orleans for about a week and it was so much fun. In true P+K fashion, we missed the freaking flight……….so we drove 9 1/2 hours and made the best out of the situation. We stopped at the University of Alabama so P could see their football stadium and we stocked up on all of the essential road trip snacks.

Because it was a bowl game, there were so many special events we got to go to. We went to the player luncheon and watched an interview with our head coach and the other team’s head coach, went to a private Cole Swindell concert (my BOY!!! we also took shots with the VP’s daughter+bf and danced with our school’s president…this is what college is supposed to look like), had lunch at the House of Blues and so much more.

P and I also got to sneak off and explore the city on our own. We went on a ghost tour one night and saw all of the American Horror Story locations, we went to a couple nerdy but really fun museum houses, ate our weight in beignets and of course had a few boozey brunches at haunted restaurants ;-)

All in all, it was absolutely depressing that it was our last trip but we had sooo much fun and these memories will last a LIFETIME. That being said, I was a loser and didn’t get any blog-worthy content in New Orleans, so enjoy these family vacation shots<3
