Registering at Crate&Barrel
I’m sure this will sound goofy, but focusing on the small details of our wedding (what color napkins we like, what songs we don’t want played, etc.) helps to cope with postponing our wedding. A new activity I’ve added to that list is creating our wedding registry. I definitely want to preface this post with the fact that I do not expect anyone to buy us a gift, but it’s fun to go through and pick out pieces that we want in our home…and I have definitely already purchased a few things off of our registry LOL.
I have a separate post coming soon about shopping for our first apartment and what we chose to invest in/what we chose to buy ‘temporary’ versions of, but it’s important to me that we only register for pieces that we know we will still love in 5 years. I was so dead-set on having everything we could possibly need the day we moved in, so we bought soo many cheap pieces. I keep reminding myself that this is our very first apartment — we are supposed to grow into nicer things, but honestly we’ll be lucky if the cheap stuff lasts until the end of our lease. I have also been going through a massive purge phase where I am literally filling up a garbage bag full of junk every other day because I am just so annoyed by the cheap, tacky pieces that are cluttering our closets and cabinets. Why do we have 4.5 cutting boards? Why are there so many mismatched bowls?
Anywayyy, since we are living together and already have some quality investment pieces I skipped over several of the typical gifts (mixers, coffee makers, bedding, etc). Our full list is up — temporary wedding date and all. Here are a few of the things I am most excited about and will probably end up buying before we even tie the knot LOL — everything is linked<3
